The globalisation of scientific, technical and economical activities led to the agricultural mechanisation team in the communication and development department of CEMAGREF (Research Institute for Agricultural and Environmental Engineering) to provide this third edition which has been extended to include a sixth language and a significant amount of new terms. The right and most commonly used term, that is recognised as such is selected here when several expressions are possible, though existing variations have not been excluded. Identification by one number in the six languages makes access simple and rapid throughout the nineteen thematic chapters retained.
